Blue Lollipop Road returns for alumni soccer weekend


BENNINGTON >> The fourth Annual Blue Lollipop Road Play It Forward Weekend will be on July 10 and 11 in Bennington.

This year's edition will start again with a Friday night Welcome Back Party at Ramunto's from 7 p.m. to close, with 10 percent of sales from the party going to the BLR Memorial Scholarship Fund.

On Saturday, the Alumni Soccer Game will start at 2 p.m. at Willow Park, and during halftime there will be a Kids Lollipop Field Fun Run, free for ages 10 and under. Following the game, there will be Celebration Cocktails at Pangaea Lounge in North Bennington, starting at 8 p.m, with 10 percent of sales going to the BLR Memorial Scholarship Fund.

The registration to participate in the soccer game is a $25 donation which includes a T-shirt. Day of registrations will be accepted. At the game, BLR will award scholarship funds to MAU in support of student travel in honor of Maria Greene and Brandy Brown.

Lady Patriot Basketball School coming up

BENNINGTON >> The Lady Patriot Basketball School will take place from July 6 through July 10 this year at Mount Anthony Union High School.

The camp is open for girls ages six through 14. Counselors will provide instructions in team play and individual skill work.

Bennington Tennis Center camps

BENNINGTON >> The Bennington Tennis Center is offering junior summer tennis camps again this summer. For children ages 5-8, the camp will run from July 7 to 10 and August 4 to 7 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Camps for children 8 to 16 will run from July 14 to 17 and August 11 to 14 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Cost for the younger camps is $100 and for the older camps is $160.

Southern Vermont Youth Lacrosse Camp

BENNINGTON >> The Southern Vermont Youth Lacrosse Camp for boys ages 5 to 16 will be held from Monday, July 13 to Thursday, July 16 at Willow Park in Bennington. Players ages 5 to 8 will attend camp from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. while players ages 9 to 16 will attend camp from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

All players are to provide their own stick. Helmets, shoulder pads, elbow pads and gloves are available for those who need them. This is a great camp for first timers! BENNINGTON >> The Southern Vermont Storm football team is seeking players for the upcoming season.

BENNINGTON >> Those interested in becoming a soccer official for girls' and boys' high-school soccer games in Vermont need to attend one of the following clinics this summer:
