2019 Regional All-stars Gala boys lacrosse

Our 2019 Regional All-Stars Gala boys lacrosse athletes:

-- Most Valuable Player: Jake Baker, Burr and Burton senior

Jake Baker was a senior leader for the Burr and Burton boys lacrosse team that made it to the Division I state championship game this spring.

Baker was one of the top offensive threats for BBA and had many games throughout the year with three goals or more.

Early in the season against rival MAU, Baker reached 100 goals for his high school career.

Baker is a three-sport athlete, also playing football and basketball.

-- Offensive player of the year: Jeff Potter, Mount Anthony senior

Jeff Potter was the top offensive threat for the Mount Anthony boys lacrosse team once again this spring.

Potter scored at least three goals in most of the games he played this year.

His best scoring output of the season was his seven-goal effort against La Salle Institute.

Potter is a three-sport athlete, also playing soccer and basketball.

-- Defensive player of the year: Steven Schmitt, Burr and Burton senior

Steven Schmitt was the defensive leader for the Burr and Burton boys lacrosse team that made it to the Division I state championship game this spring.

With him as a key cog, BBA allowed just 6.7 goals per game.

Schmitt could get the job done offensively too, reaching double figure goals.

Schmitt will play at Division I Mount Saint Mary's in college.

-- Coach of the year: Tom Grabher, Burr and Burton coach

Tom Grabher led the Burr and Burton boys lacrosse team to a 16-4 record and made it to the Division I state championship game in just his second year at the helm.

Under his watch, BBA ran off win streaks of four and six games, respectively.

Grabher coached one of the most balanced offensive attacks in the state and a defense that allowed just 6.7 goals per game this spring.
