The Greeting

Good day, Bennington County!

Or perhaps we should say "buenos dias," or "guten tag," or "bonjour," since Middlebury College plans to relocate several language schools to Bennington College starting in summer of 2020.

For Mac Forehand of Winhall, we'll say "felicitaciones," "complimenti" and "congratulations" on his claiming the World Cup Crystal Globe in slopestyle last weekend. He's the first Stratton Mountain School student to win a title while still a high school student. Tiffany Tan has more on how Forehand's passion for the sport helped him become a champion at age 17 (wow!).

Mount Anthony Union High School students are concerned about pedestrian safety on Park Street. And lawmakers are asking National Grid why much of Readsboro was without electricity for 28 hours during a storm in February -- well after power was restored in neighboring towns.

In sadder news, the saga of Justin Faatz, who escaped custody from Hoosick, N.Y., police a week ago, came to an end in Athol, Mass., where he was found dead on Tuesday.
