To the Editor:

We are fortunate in Bennington County to have Brian Campion and Dick Sears representing us in the Vermont Senate. Both senators work tirelessly on legislation that helps Bennington residents. Senator Sears as chair of the Judiciary and Senator Campion as vice chair of the Committee on Natural Resources and Energy are influential leaders in Montpelier who have the respect of their colleagues and the legislative experience to get things done. Dick Sears has long been a strong supporter of PAVE and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Brian Campion, in response to the PFOA contamination, led the effort to assure clean water in our homes and in the schools. He was pivotal in getting all schools in Vermont tested for water toxicity.

We may be far from Montpelier, but with two such respected senators, we do have a voice. I appreciate the work they do here in Bennington, Manchester and the whole county. They listen to their constituents with open minds, take their concerns seriously, bring those concerns to the State House to work on solutions, and importantly, they care about the well being of the people they represent.

They have both earned my vote to continue their good work, and I hope you will consider them as well.

Susan Hoffmann-Ogier,
