Firefighters from Bennington, Pownal and other departments fought a blaze Monday night in an apartment building at 306 Safford St. The building that appeared to sustain interior damage. Crews used a ladder truck to pour water through a small attic window or vent, and they also attacked the fire from the ground on the sides of the building. No further information was available as of press time.
