ARLINGTON — An Arlington resident faces up to five years in prison after being cited for alleged bigamy.

State Police said Robert Karney, 59, was still married to a woman from Louisiana when he married another woman from Arlington in April. He was issued a citation for this crime on May 22 by Trooper Thomas Stange of the Shaftsbury Barracks.

Karney will appear in Bennington Superior Court on June 27 to answer this charge.
