NORTH BENNINGTON — An artists' reception and guided tour of the 23rd annual North Bennington Outdoor Sculpture Show takes place on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. at the Vermont Arts Exchange, located at 48 Main St. There will be an after party outdoors with food and music at Pangaea Lounge, in the village center.
NBOSS has been on view since June 20th with work by 28 local and regional sculptors placed throughout the village of North Bennington. Due to the pandemic, NBOSS’ usual opening party was canceled in June. Organizers said the Oct. 3 event will be held outside, in a safe and responsible manner.
Pangaea street food will be available for purchase and picnicking on the VAE lawn starting at noon. Pangaea will also provide free waters and have soft drinks for purchase.
Experiencing outdoor sculpture like NBOSS can easily be viewed while social distancing. The VAE encourages viewers to enjoy the work safely and take any precautions they can. Maps are always available on site at 48 Main St. This event is accessible, free and open to the public.
Participating artists will lead small group tours of the show at 2 p.m., providing a great opportunity to meet some of the artists and hear them speak on their work, the work of others and to any answer questions.
All are welcome to join the after party from 3-6 p.m. at Pangaea Lounge. Fall themed specials including spiked mulled cider for the adults and free cider for the kids will be available. Cradle Switch from Cambridge, N.Y., will be playing Americana music with a range of songs drawing from bluegrass, country, folk, and a little blues. Those attending will be asked to practice COVID-19 guidelines as they sit on the Pangaea deck or on the adjacent Village lawn.
