Who eats a peanut butter, pickle, Sriracha and honey sandwich? Who? You probably guessed it, an expectant mother; an expectant mother who happens to be my daughter, and she liked it!

Apparently, the Sriracha and honey took the peanut butter and pickle combination over the top. It definitely checks off all the basic taste boxes: salty, sweet, bitter, sour and umami (savory). It's these seemingly conflicting tastes that are often what makes for the tastiest eats; but, maybe not so much when it comes to a peanut butter, pickle, Sriracha and honey sandwich unless you're an expectant mother.

No one would flinch over the thought of a peanut butter and jelly, peanut butter and banana, or even peanut butter and bacon sandwich, but would anyone but my son-in-law eat a peanut butter and mustard sandwich?! A childhood favorite he says.

Does a peanut butter and cheese curl sandwich fail to make you salivate? Then the spicy crunch of a peanut butter, jelly and Doritos sandwich should do it. A bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich just beckons for peanut butter and you must try a peanut butter and chili sandwich. Apparently, it has to be tasted to be believed!

But, where's the Spam? You try it ... I'm not going to try it!

These are actual peanut butter sandwich ideas I found online and they have given me an idea for a fun family activity, a peanut butter sandwich party. Get everyone together and do some brainstorming to concoct weird peanut butter sandwiches. This could get a little silly, but that's the point.

Set up a smorgasbord of peanut butter sandwich makings. Besides white bread, try a sweet cinnamon bread and a savory bread, like rye or pumpernickel. Some ideas for adding to the peanut butter sandwiches are fresh or dried fruits, cream cheese, chocolate chips, coconut, jams and jellies, veggies, condiments of all kinds, cereal, anything salty like potato chips and don't forget the pickles. Clean out the refrigerator. Nothing edible is off limits.

Have fun creating and sampling crazy peanut butter sandwiches. You might be surprised at what makes a tasty peanut butter sandwich.

After all is said and done, when it comes to the absolute best peanut butter sandwich ever created, it is hands down the Fluffernutter ... the nutty, sweet, gooey combination of peanut butter and marshmallow Fluff on white bread, but it gets even better when it's grilled with bananas and chocolate!

Sturdy white sandwich bread, such as Pepperidge Farm or sliced challah

milk chocolate, melted

Peanut butter

Marshmallow Fluff

Banana, sliced

Butter, softened

Spread some melted chocolate onto one slice of bread. Spread peanut butter over chocolate and layer with sliced bananas. Spread generous amount of Marshmallow Fluff on the other slice of bread. Close the sandwich and spread outside with softened butter.

Heat a pan over medium heat and grill sandwich until golden brown on each side until the filling is all warm and melty. Enjoy!
