RUTLAND — The VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region (VNAHSR), one of the state’s largest providers of skilled home health and hospice services, recognized Barbara Goodwin, a phlebotomist, as Clinical Employee of the Quarter, and Sherry Townsend, administrative assistant as Non-Clinical Employee of the Quarter.

Employees of the Quarter are selected from nominations submitted by peers and acknowledge employees who go above and beyond their typical job duties and best reflect the agency values of honesty, excellence, accountability, teamwork, leadership, and helpfulness.

Goodwin was honored for her commitment to excellence and quality patient care. A patient wrote, “She is wonderful! So glad she is on your team. She is magic. She knows what she is doing and always does a great job.”

Townsend was recognized for helpfulness and teamwork. In her nomination, Townsend was praised for being the definition of a team player.

“Sherry went out of her way troubleshooting with the installation of her first telehealth unit,” another wrote. “Sherry is always willing to help whenever I have needed her. Thank you, Sherry, for being such a team player.”

“Barb and Sherry exemplify the values that are the hallmark of the VNA,” said Jessica Fredette, Director of Human Resources. “All employees, no matter what their role here, have an opportunity to positively impact the patients and services we provide. We are honored that these outstanding employees join us in our mission of serving our community.”

“Recognizing our staff is an integral part of our culture,” said Sara C. King, CEO. “Our team holds a wealth of skills and talents and are the heart and soul of our organization.”
