Town of Bennington’s roadwork for the week of December 6:

Gage St: ONE lane traffic as a contractor replaces lead service lines all week. Please use caution when approaching and expect delays or find an alternate route.

Murphy Rd: MONDAY will be reduced to ONE lane traffic as a contractor replaces a damaged guard rail at the curve near Riverside Dr. Traffic control will be in place. Please use caution when approaching and expect delays or find an alternate route.

N. Branch at East Rd. intersection: MONDAY will be reduced to ONE lane traffic as a contractor replaces a damaged guard rail at the corner intersection. Traffic control will be in place. Please use caution when approaching and expect delays or find an alternate route.

TOWNWIDE: Winter Preparations

REMINDERS:•The Winter Overnight Parking Ban for all streets within the Town of Bennington as well as Village of North Bennington was put into order on Nov. 15 and remains in effect until March 31 between the hours of 2 and 6 a.m. NO overnight parking is allowed on the streets. Police will enforce this ban by ticketing individuals who leave unattended vehicles on the street during that time.

•According to Vermont State Statue, it is illegal to plow snow or snow blow from your private property onto or across public highways. Remember to plow away from public roads into the private driveways and private roads. You cannot plow across a public road. Failure to do so may result in fines.

•Please keep children away from the roadside and/or parking lot snow piles/snow banks. These are not play areas and can be dangerous.
