BENNINGTON — The following list of road projects for the coming week was supplied by the Bennington Department of Public Works. Motorists are asked to use caution and expect delays, as workers and equipment will be in roadways. All work is weather dependent.

Chapel Road, upper and lower, will be reduced to one-lane traffic in various locations as the PFOA contractor crew finishes edging roadwork from new paving recently installed.

School Street between Main and Pleasant streets will be closed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. all week as a highway crew installs new drainage as part of a rehabilitation project. Detours will be in place.

Townwide: A water crew will be conducting follow-up repairs to hydrants found in need during the recent semi-annual hydrant flushing. A sewer crew will be rebuilding manholes in various locations. Highway crews will be patching digs and potholes in various areas of town.

North Bennington: A highway crew will be picking up leaves across the village in various locations.

Fall reminder: Residents are asked not to blow or rake leaves into town streets, as these clog storm drains and create hazards for the entire community.

Residents and contractors are asked to make sure that all loads are covered when taking leaves and brush to the transfer station.
