HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. — Hoosick Falls’ Hoosick Rising is will roll out its first-ever Scarecrow Contest. Kids ages 15 and up, grown-ups, families, and civic and high school groups from Hoosick Falls and beyond are encouraged to put their scarecrow-creating and construction abilities to the test and enter the contest.

The idea is simple: Come up with a concept for a scarecrow based on the inaugural theme of “Hoosick Hay Days,” build it, and bring it to Wood Park in Hoosick Falls between 8 a.m. to noon on Oct. 1.

The contest is free to enter and will take place during the 2022 Walter A. Wood Tractor & Agriculture Show.
