MANCHESTER — Violinist Zachary DePue and violist Amadi Azikiwe will join Taconic Music artistic directors Joana Genova on violin and Ariel Rudiakov on viola, and cellist Nathaniel Parke in a performance on Saturday, July 25 at 7 p.m. at Burr and Burton Academy's Riley Center for the Arts in Manchester village. The program for week three of Taconic's summer concert series, Celebrating Beethoven, includes Beethoven's String Quintet in C Major, op. 29 "The Storm" and Mendelssohn's String Quintet No.2 in B-flat Major, op. 87.

"With summer something of a moving target, we're so glad that Zach could perform with us for two weeks running. And we are thrilled to have Amadi join us again this summer," Rudiakov said. "We've collaborated for many years here in Vermont, and we've worked together several times with the Harlem Chamber Players—in fact, he was one of the soloists when I conducted the ensemble in New York last year. Summer just wouldn't be the same without him."

DePue is first violinist of The Indianapolis Quartet, which performed here last week. Azikiwe is music director of the Harlem Symphony Orchestra, violist and community engagement director of the Harlem Chamber Players, and enjoys a global, multi-faceted career and reputation for his solo and recital performances, chamber music collaborations and community engagement events.

Taconic's fourth summer series takes place at 7 p.m. on consecutive Saturday evenings through Aug. 1. Each hour-long concert features a Beethoven piece, in honor of the composer's 250th birthday, along with a complementary or contrasting work by composers ranging from Piazzolla to Schumann, to this week's Mendelssohn, and Glinka. Seating is limited, and all concerts will be livestreamed on the Taconic Music Facebook page and YouTube channel.

State health guidelines are being closely followed, and all attendees will be expected to wear an appropriate face covering to comply with Manchester's mask ordinance.
