DORSET — State Police have recovered a body from the Dorset Quarry that matches the description of a Bennington College student reported missing over the weekend.
State Police Lt. Reg Trayah said that on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. the state police SCUBA Team found the body beneath the ice near the back of the quarry. The body is being sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for further investigation. A cause of death has yet to be determined. Police have not officially announced the identity of the person they found.
Police have been searching the quarry since Tuesday, looking for Hadil Marzouq, 21, a native of Palestine who was last seen on Saturday in Bennington. Her vehicle was found Sunday near the quarry, off Route 30 in Dorset.
Police used submersible cameras as well as divers to search the quarry. Search dogs were also used to investigate the surrounding area.
