Some 30 community members gathered at the ceramics studio at Bennington College on Saturday morning to create bowls for this year's Empty Bowls soup supper.

In all, the studio will turn out some 750 bowls for the event, which is a collaboration between the college and Greater Bennington Interfaith Community Services.

Community members are welcome to help glaze the bowls at two more workshops at the studio, on Nov. 2 and Nov. 9, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2 to 4 p.m. on both days.

Empty Bowls will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17, at Mount Anthony Union Middle School in Bennington. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 7 to 15.

Proceeds support the GBICS Kitchen Cupboard. For information and to buy tickets, visit
