BENNINGTON — A 22-year-old man has pleaded guilty to charges that he sent lewd photos to two underage girls.
George L. Foucher II, of Bennington, will be sentenced this winter.
Foucher was charged last November after the mother of a 14-year-old girl reported Foucher and her daughter had been exchanging inappropriate messages on mobile devices. Police said the girl met Foucher at a wedding when she was 13, sent her messages and kept pestering her to send him photos of her. The offenses occurred in August 2016. Foucher was released at his arraignment on no bail with conditions, including that he not have contact with anyone under 16 years old.
Foucher was charged again in May after police said he had been communicating with a 15-year-old girl. Investigators in April obtained photos of messages sent from Foucher's phone to the girl's phone, which were sexual in nature.
Foucher pleaded guilty in Bennington criminal court on Tuesday to a single felony count of sexual exploitation using electronic communication to lure a child, a charge stemming from the August 2016 offense. In the separate case related to the April offense, he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of sending indecent material to a minor.
Judge David A. Howard ordered a pre-sentence investigation report by the Department of Corrections, which is slated to be completed by February.
Both cases will be set for a half-hour contested sentencing hearing.
Under an agreement with prosecutors, a misdemeanor count of indecent material and violating conditions of release will be dismissed by the state.
