Youth hunting begins this weekend
I believe this great American heritage and our natural resources are particularly important to Vermonters as the great outdoors and our spectacular wildlife are part of our very core and a big part of what makes us Vermonters. Our State youth hunters (under age 16) will have the first opportunity to harvest some fresh, healthy venison for their freezers as the two-day Vermont Youth deer season begins on Saturday.
Adult hunters get their chance starting the following weekend on November 11.
Around 65,000 sportsmen will pursue the elusive whitetail deer in Vermont this season and by doing so, they provide the funding and management needed to protect and have healthy animal populations and habitat for the State, this is conservation in action.
Working together with Vermont Fish & Wildlife; this system helps both the economy and ecology of the State. It's an affordable, safe, family activity in the beautiful Green Mountains and a green, organic and healthy meat source to feed your family. Whether it be the challenge of the hunt or the comradery of the world's oldest shared tradition, the role this management system has for the future of our wildlife is critical.
Vermont is also on the forefront of hunting technology and one of the only states where hunters can use an Air-Gun to harvest a deer.
I will be using the new Dragon Claw .50 Caliber pneumatic air rifle this deer season and I invite some lucky youth hunter and a guest to join me!
I would like to offer one FIRST TIME youth hunter (who has never hunted before, but has completed hunter education) a chance to join me with a parent for this season's youth hunting weekend in Bennington County. I would like a local resident of Bennington (male or female; age 6-15) and a parent who is willing to provide transportation to the local hunting property. This is a private 500-acre piece of land and I will provide guide service, land access, the weapons system and a video of your adventure. This will be a "filmed for TV" hunt if successful.
Anyone interested, please find and contact me on The Future of Hunting TV Show Facebook page or e-mail at email@example.com
I also encourage other hunters to follow my lead and take a kid hunting and fishing this season; sharing our passion and "passing it on" is the ultimate hunting challenge. I challenge you and please feel free to share pictures on our Facebook page also! Happy Hunting!
