Vt. man arrested after dispute over towed car

SOUTH BURLINGTON (AP) -- Vermont police investigating a report of threatening behavior by a driver whose car was towed ended up arresting the man on an outstanding warrant in New Hampshire.

South Burlington police say they charged 25-year-old Jerry Andrews of Essex Junction as a fugitive from justice and he remains in custody on a $5,000 bond. His arraignment in Chittenden Superior Court is set for Monday.

Police say the outstanding New Hampshire warrant is for failure to pay restitution on a felony theft conviction.

Andrews was arrested at Spillane's Service Center Sunday morning. Police went to Spillane's after an employee reported Andrews was acting in an aggressive and threatening manner over his car being towed.

Further investigation turned up the New Hampshire warrant.
