Vt. Health Connect: New delay for small businesses
MONTPELIER (AP) - Republicans in the Vermont House are stepping up their criticisms of the state's efforts to implement the Affordable Care Act, as state officials announce a new delay at implementing the system.
GOP lawmakers gathered Tuesday to call for moving up a state household insurance survey to find out the effects of the Vermont Health Connect system's problem-plagued implementation.
They also say they're setting up a new website - VermontHealthReport.com - to allow residents to trade information about their experiences with Vermont Health Connect.
But the Republicans are applauding a Shumlin administration announcement that small businesses are now being asked to get their insurance directly from insurers rather than through the state website, due to continuing problems with the site and the Vermont Health Connect enrollment process.
