Vermont to get $1.4 million in drug settlement
MONTPELIER (AP) - The Vermont attorney general's office say the state will collect $1.4 million as part of a national settlement reached with pharmaceutical manufacturer GlaxoSmithKline over allegations that the company deceptively marketed certain drugs.
The attorney general said Wednesday that the total $105 million national settlement resolves allegations that the company misrepresented the proper uses and qualities of the asthma drug Advair and antidepressant drugs Paxil and Wellbutrin.
Under the settlement, GlaxoSmithKline must change its marketing and promotional practices in several ways.
