Vermont police make arrest following man's death

MONTPELIER (AP) - Vermont state police say they've arrested a woman on a murder charge in the death of a Hyde Park man.

State police say they were called to help the Lamoille County sheriff's department Monday regarding the death of a 48-year-old man, who has been tentatively identified as Christopher Cafferky.

Police say it looks as though the man was stabbed. They're awaiting confirmation from an autopsy.

Lamoille officers say the initial 911 caller was Jeanette Maxfield. They say she reported the death close to 1 a.m. Monday.

Police say Maxfield was taken for questioning and later was arrested. She'll be arraigned Tuesday. Bail hasn't been determined.

Maxfield is in custody and can't be reached for comment. Her attorney can't be located.
