Vermont Community College has new academic dean


MONTPELIER (AP) - Community College of Vermont is getting a new academic dean.

The college says that Deborah Stewart has been chosen to succeed current academic Dean Linda Gabrielson, who is retiring next month.

Stewart is a CCV graduate, longtime faculty member and current dean of students. She also served as the associate academic dean from 2001 to 2010.

She was chosen from 51 candidates from across the country.

Stewart will begin the transition to her new position next month, but will officially begin her new job on July 1.
