U.S. official to talk rebuilding for disasters in Vermont

BRIDGEWATER (AP) - Vermont Gov. Peter Shumlin is going to be talking about rebuilding from disasters with the next disaster in mind with the acting chairman of the White House Council on Environmental Quality.

Shumlin and Acting Chair Michael Boots are planning to visit Thursday a site in West Bridgewater that was damaged in 2011 by flooding from Tropical Storm Irene.

Shumlin and Boots are then scheduled to tour Green Mountain Power's Energy Innovation Center in Rutland.
