Update: Missing Pittsfield middle school students found on Mount Greylock


ADAMS - Two Reid Middle School students have been found on Mount Greylock after being separated from their classmates during a group outing, according to authorities.

The Pittsfield students, ages 12 to 14, were hiking as a part of a summer program on Thursday when they went missing, according to Massachusetts State Police Sgt. James Gamari.

Authorities were notified about 2 p.m. after the students went missing while descending the mountain, Gamari said.

They were found near the peak about 4:35 p.m. in good health.

As many as eight local and state agencies responded to assist in the search.
