Two killed in early morning crash
HOOSICK, N.Y. - Police said two people were killed early Friday morning when the Jeep they were in went off the road and struck a tree.
According to the Rensselear County Sheriff's Department, Crystal Lee Yerdon, 32 and George J. Badger, also 32, both of Hoosick, were pronounced dead at the scene. Police said at 1:46 a.m. they were dispatched to Mitchell Road where a passerby reported a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee had crashed. The crash is still under investigation with the Sheriff's Department being assisted by the New York State Police Troop G Collision Reconstruction Unit. Police said speed appears to have been a factor.
