Student put on NY Post cover after Boston Marathon bombing to give talk

FITCHBURG, MASS. >> A Fitchburg State University student who was featured on a newspaper cover in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombing plans to talk about his experience this week at the school.

The New York Post's front page had a photo of then-16-year-old Salaheddin Barhoum and Yassine Zaimi with the headline "Bag Men" on April 18, 2013, three days after the bombing. Barhoum lived in Revere at the time.

The sub-headline was "Feds seek these two pictured at Boston Marathon." The two were never linked to the investigation. They sued the Post and the case was settled last year under confidential terms.

Barhoum tells the Telegram & Gazette he felt "vilified."

The business student will discuss the case at a free presentation in Hammond Hall at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
