POWNAL -- State Police said they are seeking more information on a brawl that may have involved more than 15 people and in which a pregnant woman was allegedly hit in the head.

According to Vermont State Trooper Justin Walker, on Friday troopers were called to 334 Chickadee Drive at the Alta Gardens Mobile Home Park at about 9:16 p.m. for a reported fight. Walker said the call came in through the 911 system and dispatchers could hear people shouting in the background. He said when troopers arrived they met Brian Carangio who said a male named "Shawn" came to his home along with approximately 15 other people who arrived in multiple vehicles. Carangio said they came to confront him about problems his dog had been causing.

According to Walker it was reported that a pregnant woman, Kayla Denue, was struck in the head several times after a fight broke out. When Stephen Wilson tried to defend her, he was also hit about the head and thrown into a fence, according to Walker. Wilson was taken to Southwest Vermont Medical Center in Bennington by the Pownal Rescue Squad.

Anyone with information on the incident is being asked to contact State Police at 802-442-5421. Tips can be given online anonymously at www.vtips.info, or by texting to the number 274637 (CRIMES) the keyword "VTIPS" followed by the tip.
