Spend Valentine’s Day with the VAE and Gypsy Layne Cabaret at Oldcastle Theatre

BENNINGTON -- On the Oldcastle Theatre Company Stage "Gypsy Layne Cabaret & Co."

Valentine’s Day might fall on Feb. 14, but this year the 15th promises to be the real lovefest, as the Vermont Arts Exchange presents Gypsy Layne Cabaret & Co for their premiere performance at Oldcastle Theatre Company.

The Vermont Arts Exchange (VAE) is very happy to be coming out of the Basement and heading to this exciting new venue for an evening of entertainment -- join us as we bring the Berkshires’ favorite burlesque troupe to the stage on Saturday, February 15.

Hailed as "a sexy highpoint of classic burlesque entertainment in the Berkshires" by Berkshire magazine, Gypsy Layne’s hallmark of bawdy humor, live music, dynamic dance routines, and cheeky sex appeal are prominently featured in their latest extravaganza.

"This show navigates various emotional territories -- it really takes our audience on a ride," says Artistic Director Nicole Rizzo. "We continue to challenge ourselves as performers, and our shows become more innovative each season. Yet we always remain true to who we are."

The evening promises to satisfy chocolate lovers with a chocolate buffet available. Options will include a chocolate waterfall, cake, brownies, and delicious individual chocolates (all including shots of milk). A purchase of a large or small plate puts you in the drawing for a wonderful box of sweets from Mother Myricks. Chocolate buffet and cash bar will be available throughout the show. All generously donated, the proceeds will go to benefit VAE’s "let’s get a sink in the Ceramic Studio" fund. Coming this spring (we hope) to our clay studio!

Plan to come early and enjoy the pre-show -- local band The Buzzsaw Boys will be setting up camp prior to the show in the lobby, pickin’ and playin’ classic standards from the ‘30s and ‘40s American songbook.

Tickets to this concert are $22 ($15 for students with valid ID) through Brown Paper Tickets, the first and only fair-trade ticketing company, at brownpapertickets.com or by calling (toll free) 800-838-3006 -- a small processing fee will be charged. Tickets are $26 at the door on the day of show on a first-come, first-served basis. Libations will be available from Thyme Tables Catering. Sponsor tables are available, please call VAE for more information.
