Montpelier -- Secretary of State Jim Condos was elected by his peers to serve on the Executive Board for the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) as Secretary. Secretary Condos served as the Eastern Region Vice-President from 2013-2014.

On Secretary Condos' election to the board, Secretary Kate Brown (D, Oregon and NASS President) said: "I am pleased by Secretary Condos' election to the NASS Executive Committee. Together we will be working to preserve our states' heritages and also to cut through regulatory red tape so our states' businesses can grow and thrive. He will be an asset in these efforts."

Secretary Condos stated "I am excited for this opportunity to continue to serve in a leadership role within NASS. I look forward to continuing to support and work with my fellow Secretaries of State on key initiatives affecting elections and voting, state business services, and digital archiving; these are important issues for Vermont and I look forward to providing leadership for our great state on the NASS Executive Committee."

The national officers were elected by full member vote at the NASS 2014 Summer Conference. They will serve a one-year term, ending in July 2015.
