Second-half surge helps MAU cruise past Otter Valley

BRANDON — The Mount Anthony Union High School girls basketball team snapped a three game losing streak on Wednesday night, with a 67-30 win over Otter Valley.

Up 27-16 going into the second half, the Patriots outscored Otter Valley 40-14 in the second half to win their fifth game of the season.

Junior Brianna Legacy led the way for the Patriots, scoring a team-high 17 points on the night. Legacy also dished out four assists in the game as well.

The Patriots had two other players in double figures on the night, with 15 points and four assists from Kathryn Frasier and 10 points from Madison Little.

Tayler Paquin had a great night on the boards for MAU, grabbing a team-high six rebounds to help the Patriots improve to 5-8 on the season.

MAU held Otter Valley to three points in the fourth quarter.

The Patriots will get back at it on the court this Saturday afternoon when they host Rutland at 2:30 p.m.
