Scores line up for Trump Vermont event in Sanders' hometown
BURLINGTON, VT. >> Supporters and opponents of Republican billionaire Donald Trump's presidential bid are lining up outside a Vermont theater where Trump is scheduled to appear, just a few feet from the City Hall where Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders began his political career.
More than 100 people were already in line by midday Thursday with over seven hours to go before the event kicks off. More than 20,000 tickets were distributed for free to the Burlington event in a theater with only 1,400 seats, according to police.
Local police say even people with tickets in hand will be turned away once the theater is full. They say counter demonstrations against the GOP presidential front-runner are likely.
