Paul Smith's College dean's list

PAUL SMITHS, N.Y. -- The following area students were named to the dean's list at Paul Smith's College during the spring 2014 semester. Each earned a semester average of 3.3 or higher to receive this distinction:

Andre-Anne Chenaille of North Bennington, who is majoring in environmental sciences. Chenaille was also named an Adirondack Scholar, having achieved a cumulative average of at least 3.8.

Zachary McLellan of Pawlet, who is majoring in forestry.

Llewellyn Palmer of Berlin, N.Y., who is majoring in parks, recreation and facilities management. Jacksonville State University announces graduates

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. -- Seven hundred twenty-eight candidates received degrees from Jacksonville State University this spring, making up the largest graduating class in the university's history. Nearly 600 of those students crossed the stage to receive their degrees during Spring Commencement exercises on May 6, at JSU Stadium.

Among those receiving degrees was John Gotsch of Bennington, who graduated with a bachelor of science.

Union College dean's list

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Mary Beth Gadarowski, of Cambridge, N.Y., was named to the dean's list at Union College for the 2013-14 academic year.

Gadarowski is majoring in biology, and a 2011 graduate of Cambridge Central School.

To make dean's list, students must receive a 3.5 GPA for the entire academic year. They also must meet several other requirements to be awarded the honor.
