’Doubt’ opening at Oldcastle Theatre

BENNINGTON -- Oldcastle Theatre Company presents John Patrick Shanley’s Doubt: A Parable. Doubt won the Pulitizer Prize for Drama, a Tony Award for Best Play, and was adapted into an Academy Award Nominated Screenplay in 2008.

Father Flynn has taken young Donald Muller, who happens to be the only African American student at his school, under his wing. Sister Aloysius, a staunchly conservative Catholic school principal, is suspicious of his relationship with the young boy; but Sister James, a younger more progressive nun, believes that Father Flynn is innocent of any misconduct.

Are Sister Aloysius’ doubts based in truth, or in her own prejudice? Is Father Flynn really looking out for Donald’s best interests? Come to 331 Main Street, in Bennington to find out. Shows run June 6 to June 22 on Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays at 2 p.m. and Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m.
