’4000 Miles’ opening at Oldcastle Theatre

BENNINGTON -- Oldcastle Theatre Company is proud to present Amy Herzog’s dramatic comedy "4000 Miles". This play was a finalist for the Pulitizer Prize for Drama in 2013. Time magazine reviewer Richard Zoglin wrote: "4000 Miles is the family drama that really sticks with you, easily the best play of the season."

When young Leo Joseph-Connell (played by Oldcastle newcomer Andrew Krug) bikes across the country, he is filled with ambition and dreams. However, after a major tragedy, he finds himself at the apartment of his 91-year-old Grandmother Vera, played by Oldcastle veteran Janis Young. The relationship between Leo and Vera has a rocky start. Leo’s long time girlfriend Bec (played by Hannah Heller), whom Vera is not fond of, comes to confront him about their relationship; and Leo’s potential one night stand with Amanda (played by Julie Chen) doesn’t go over well with Vera either. But over the course of a single month, these two unlikely roommates infuriate, bewilder, and ultimately reach each other.
