Roundup: Patriots sweep St. Joe’s in pool

BENNINGTON -- The Mount Anthony Union High School swim team swept Friday’s meet at the Bennington Rec Center over St. Joseph’s.
The girls scored a 108-62 victory, while the boys won 82-52.
For the girls, Kate Ahearn was a double winner, both in the 50 freestyle and the 100 free.
Other winners were Bridget Ahearn in the 200 free, Phebe Hall in the 200 individual medley and Kara Sampsell in the 100 breaststroke.
Mount Anthony also won all three relays, the 200 free, the 400 free and the 200 medley relay.
Jena Staab, Emily Barlow and Baylee Ports all picked up runner-up finishes in their respective events.
For the boys, Ryan Spencer won both the 100 back and 200 IM. Zach LaForest won the 50 free, Andrew Spencer took the 100 fly and Austin Ulrich in the 100 breast.
A win on Tuesday against Wahconah would give the boys the Northern Division crown in the Berkshire League.
Tamarac tops Hoosick
CLUMS CORNERS, N.Y. -- Megan Flynn led Hoosick with 13 points and 16 rebounds, but runs in the first and second quarter gave Tamarac a lead it wouldn’t relinquish in a 52-39 win.
Hoosick led by six in both the first and second quarter but each time, the Bengals would make the comeback.
Kelly Pine added 12 for the Panthers, who drop to 7-4.
Indians fall to Greenwich
CAMBRIDGE, N.Y. -- A 13-5 first quarter hole was too much for Cambridge to climb out of, as Greenwich won 51-34 on Friday night in boys basketball.
Greenwich had three players in doubles -- Kelvin Williamson with 13, Sean Estramonte with 13 and Justin Carruthers with 10.
Cambridge (1-8) was led by Max McNeil’s 13. Brendan Ricketts and Ryan Jeskie each added 9.
Case scores 30 to top CCS
GREENWICH, N.Y. -- Greenwich’s Alexis Case dropped 30, including five 3-pointers, as the Witches topped Cambridge, 53-37, in girls basketball.
Case had half of the team’s two-point field goals as well in her monster night. Mariah Linnett added 13.
Cambridge (5-7) was led by Sarah Cuddihy and Helen Mooney, who each had 11 points.

BENNINGTON -- Wrestling sign-ups are still taking place for youth wrestlers in the area.

Mack Attack AAU sign-ups
ARLINGTON -- The Mack Attack AAU girls’ basketball season will begin practicing on March 9, and sign-ups are ongoing.
The team provides participants with an opportunity to improve basketball skills and knowledge through a challenging level of play. Girls ages 8-17 who are interested in participating should contact coach Kerry Csizmesia at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 860-326-5024.
