Roundup: Keenan tames Rikert

MIDDLEBURY -- Mount Anthony Union High School senior Luke Keenan won the skate nordic ski race at Rikert in Middlebury on Monday.
Keenan finished the course in 5 minutes, 48 seconds to pace the field over Essex’s Ethan John (5:54) and Champlain Valley’s Thomas Clayton (5:58).
Burr and Burton Academy’s Scott Mooney was seventh overall, finishing the course in 6:08.
Other Mount Anthony scorers were Andy Barlow (ninth in 6:16), Will Buckley (11th in 6:40) and Nick Altland (23rd in 7:42).
BBA’s other three team scorers were Thomas Kittross in 25th, Anders Profit in 37th and Owen Pollio in 62nd.
For the girls, MAU’s Abby Malmborg finished in the top 10, ninth place, with a time of 9:27. She was followed by Molly O’Callaghan in 10:22, Erica Hale in 10:48 and Allie Boudreau in 11:14. BBA’s Helena Bigelow was 15th in 10:10.
Hoosick bowling wins
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- The Hoosick Falls bowling team topped Corinth on Tuesday, 4-0.
The Panthers knocked down 3,800 pins to Corinth’s 2,959.
Five of the six Panther bowlers -- Josh McCart, A.J. Hurlburt, Jennifer Sargood, Kyla Day and Ken Marbot -- all had 600 series or higher, led by McCart’s 279-672.
"The team is peaking at the right time," said Hoosick coach Bob Lang.
Hoosick win streak continues
SCHUYLERVILLE, N.Y. -- The Hoosick Falls boys basketball team upped its record to 12-1 with a 56-32 win over Schuylerville, shows no ill effects from its victory over Lake George.
Three were in double figures for the Panthers, including Mark Hackett, who led the way with 18. Willy Bradley had 16 and Austin Pitt added 11 as Hoosick hit seven 3-pointers on the night.
Schuylerville was led by Clay Patrick’s eight points.
Indians drop to Valley
CAMBRIDGE, N.Y. -- Hoosic Valley’s Mike Pierre and John Rooney continued their roll through the Wasaren League, as each scored 23 in a 65-32 win over Cambridge.
Valley started the night with a 19-6 lead after the first quarter.
Caleb Rowland led the 1-10 Indians with 10 points. Brendan Ricketts and Brady Sausville added seven.
