Project Lifesaver aimed to help those with dementia

TROY, N.Y. >> Project Lifesaver is a public safety program designed to protect and locate missing persons that may suffer from Alzheimer's, dementia, autism or other conditions that may result in wandering. The program consists of a wristwatch sized transmitter worn by the individual, and specialized receivers deployed by law enforcement that allow the individual to be located in a timely manner. The equipment is supplied to the Rensselaer County Sheriff's Office by New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services. For more information contact Sgt.
