Post 13 notches first win of season
RUTLAND >> The Post 13 Legion baseball team scored single runs in the first and fourth innings of Tuesday's game against Rutland and held on for a 2-1 victory, its first of the year.
The win snapped a six-game losing skid to start the season.
Pat Powers was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored, while Brody Farnum added a pair of hits as well.
Brian Grace got his first RBI of the season with a bases-loaded walk, which turned out to be the game-winning run.
On the mound, Devin Babson had his best start of the year, going five innings. He allowed four hits and one run, walked six and struck out nine. Farnum allowed two hits and no runs in the final two innings for the save.
Post 13 has four games this weekend, all at Mount Anthony. They play two on Saturday against Rutland Post 31 and two on Sunday against Post 84 White River Junction.
