Porsche abandoned after Readsboro crash

BENNINGTON — A 1987 Porsche was abandoned in Readsboro Saturday night, following a crash just before 11 p.m.

Vermont State Police responded to the single vehicle crash in Route 8 approximately a half mile north of Vermont Route 100, and located the vehicle off of the southbound shoulder.

In their investigation police discovered that the vehicle left the shoulder of Route 8 and struck a large boulder at the roads edge, causing extensive contact damage to the passenger side. Though the weather was clear at the time, road conditions were wet.

Police were unable to locate any operator or occupants of the vehicle, a Porsche 928 Coupe. It is believed that the operator left the scene of the crash prior to police arrival.

Vermont State Police are asking anyone with information on this incident to contact the Shaftsbury Barracks at 802-442-5421.

Reach Cherise Madigan at 802-490-6471.
