Police: Vermont man seriously hurt in Addison crash

ADDISON, VT. >> Vermont state police say a Brandon man has been seriously injured after a one-car crash in Addison.

The Burlington Free Press reports police say the truck was headed north on Jersey Street South when it crossed over Vermont Route 17 and came to rest in a tree line adjacent to a field early Sunday morning.

The 21-year-old driver was removed from the car and taken to the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington with serious internal injuries.

Police say two passengers were treated at a Middlebury hospital and released.

The incident remains under investigation. Police say speed, alcohol and seatbelt usage are contributing factors in the crash.
