Arrest on a warrant

SHAFTSBURY -- On March 12, Jason C. Adams, 34, of Dorset turned himself in to state police at the Shaftsbury barracks on an active arrest warrant, reports Trooper Wayne Godfrey. Adams was processed on the warrant and custody was transferred to the Bennington County Sheriff's Department.

Failure to appear

POWNAL -- On March 14, state troopers arrested Nathan Brown, 25, from his residence in Pownal, after he failed to appear in Bennington County Criminal Court, leading to an active warrant for his arrest, according to a report from Trooper Elliott Justinger. He was transported to the Marble Valley Correctional Center, where he is being held on $1,000 bail.

Contempt of court

BENNINGTON -- On March 12, at approximately 12:20 p.m., Kaela R. Holland, 24, of Bennington, was arrested on South Street for failure to abide by her conditions of release, said Trooper Wayne Godfrey. Holland was arrested in February when she took her 4-year-old daughter and got on a train to Michigan. Holland was intercepted in Chicago, and charged with custodial interference, a felony. Holland was processed for the violation of conditions of release, and will appear in court on April 14, at 8:15 a.m. to answer to the charge of contempt of court.


BENNINGTON -- Vermont state troopers conducted a traffic stop on Lincoln Street in Bennington at 1:20 a.m. on March 16, according to a report from Trooper Elliott Justinger. Officers found the operator, Hayley Kenyan, 25, appeared to be intoxicated. She was taken into custody, processed on the Shaftsbury barracks, and released. She is scheduled to appear in court on April 7 to answer to the charge.
