Three-vehicle crash

ARLINGTON -- On April 1, at approximately 3:12 p.m., state police and Arlington Fire and Rescue responded to a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 313 East and Warm Brook Road.

Police said the operator of a 2014 Subaru Outback was traveling north on Warm Brook Road when she entered the intersection in front of the operator of a 1998 Ford Escort traveling west on Route 313 at approximately 50 mph.

The collision caused the Outback to collide with the operator of a 2013 Toyota Truck who was stopped waiting to enter the intersection.

All three vehicles were towed due to incapacitating damage. The only injury that was sustained was a minor abrasion to the abdomen of the 4-year-old passenger in the Escort, who was transported to SVMC for further evaluation., according to a police report. State police are continuing to investigate the crash.

SHAFTSBURY -- On April 1, a Shaftsbury woman, Anja Spangenberg, was issued a no tresspass order for Paulins Inc. and a citation for misdemeanor retail theft for a May 18 court date.

According to police reports, Spangenberg concealed three "Power Bars" inside her purse and left the store without purchasing them.
