Dump truck crashes
ARLINGTON -- The driver of a dump truck that went off the road and tipped onto its side Friday afternoon has been ticketed by State Police.
Police said a 1996 Mack dump truck driven by Andrew Fraser, 25, was heading north on Route 7A at around 1 p.m. when it went off the side of the road. It was hauling gravel, which spilled. Fraser was not hurt, and the truck was totaled. Traffic was detoured around the scene and the truck towed away.

CAMBRIDGE, N.Y. -- On Friday, Aug. 15, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested 27-year-old Kayla Douglas of Cambridge, for fourth-degree grand larceny, following the results of an investigation by the sheriff’s office and the Washington County Department of Social Services.
Douglas is accused of failing to accurately report her household income while receiving over $2,225 in Home Energy Assistance Program benefits.
Douglas was arrested and processed at the Fort Edward Sheriff’s Office and released, cited to appear in the Town of Fort Edward Court on Aug. 26. A review of the case by the District Attorney’s Office may reveal additional charges and possible grand jury action.

GREENWICH, N.Y. -- On Monday, Aug. 18, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested 42-year-old Michael Rios of New Jersey while he was working at the Washington County Fair after being discovered as a fugitive from the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office in Texas.
Rios is wanted on a probation violation from an original charge of possessing a controlled substance, a state jail felony in Texas,
Rios was arraigned in the Town of Greenwich Court and remanded to the Washington County Jail without bail pending extradition.
