Police: Man blocks traffic, complains of no waves at parade
BENNINGTON, VT. >> A southern Vermont man pleaded not guilty to charges that the 49-year-old halted traffic after a Veterans Day parade to complain that people in the procession didn't wave to the crowd.
The Rutland Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1TRnZvf ) Paul Saitta entered the plea Monday in Bennington to charges of disorderly conduct for obstructing traffic.
Sgt. Camillo Grande says a visibly drunk Saitta blocked traffic at two separate intersections along state Route 7 in Bennington on Nov. 11. The Veterans Day parade had just passed through downtown.
Grande says Saitta ignored police orders to get out of the road. He says the Bennington man was rambling on about nobody honking their horns during the parade and how the firefighters were allegedly not waving back at the children.
