Police investigate Hoosick shooting
NORTH HOOSICK, N.Y. — Police say a person was shot early Saturday morning.
According to a release from the Rensselear County Sheriff's Department, at 4:30 a.m. police responded to a home on Route 22 where they found a 37-year-old male had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to Albany Medical Center in Albany.
The weapon used was a 12 gage shotgun loaded with bird shot. The homeowner who did the shooting told police the male was trying to enter his residence and threatening to harm him.
Police said the investigation is still being conducted and have not released further details.
