BENNINGTON -- Bennington Police said a bicyclist received minor injuries when he hit the side of a car as it crossed Main Street to Valentine Street Wednesday afternoon.

Bennington Police Lt. Lloyd Dean said a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox being driven by Robin Littlejohn, 59, was through the intersection of Main Street and Valentine Street when Edward A. Martin, 49, who was riding a bicycle west on Main Street, collided with her vehicle.

Martin was not wearing a helmet and was taken to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center by the Bennington Rescue Squad. Dean said he is considered at fault for the crash but it has not yet been determined if he will face a fine. The crash occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m.
