Police arrest two for break-in at Green Mountain Racetrack


POWNAL >> Two people were arrested in connection with a break-in at the Green Mountain Racetrack Saturday, according to Vermont State Police.

Joshua E. Eriksen, 20, of Pownal, and a 16-year-old juvenile were both arrested just before 2 a.m. Dec. 26, according to a press release by Trooper Alex Saxby of the Shaftsbury barracks.

A state trooper and two Bennington Police Department officers responded after being notified someone had broken into the racetrack on Route 7.

Police found that a window had been smashed with a brick. While clearing the building, troopers found the two males hiding inside.

Eriksen was released on conditions and ordered to appear in Vermont Superior Court on Jan. 4, 2016, according to state police. Police did not identify the juvenile.
