Police arrest 2 after vehicle chase in St. Albans
ST. ALBANS (AP) - Police in St. Albans have arrested a woman on charges of taking a vehicle from a business and then leading police on a chase with speeds over 100 mph.
Police took a call from Tatro's Gourmet Soup & Sandwich Shop on Thursday that one of their vehicles had been stolen from behind the business. A state trooper spotted it traveling east on Route 105 and when police tried to stop the vehicle, it speeded up.
The pursuit went to Sheldon, where the fleeing vehicle pulled into a parking area and spun out of control.
Police said the driver, 35-year-old Margo Heath of St. Albans, tried to flee, but was arrested. A passenger, 51-year-old Scott Smith of St. Albans, remained inside. He was charged with accessory to theft.
