Pinkus leads Bulldogs past Raiders

RUTLAND >> One goal was all the Burr and Burton girls soccer team needed to get their win against Rutland on Tuesday night.

Grace Pinkus scored the game's only goal off a corner kick by teammate Sky Woodard in the second half to help BBA grab a 1-0 win over the Raiders.

With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 7-1 on the season.

BBA will next play host to Hartford on Friday at 5 p.m.

Indians blank Witches

GREENWICH, N.Y. >> The Cambridge boys soccer picked up an impressive road win on Tuesday night, defeating Greenwich 2-0.

Late in the first half, Emerson Lopez fired in the game's first goal to give Cambridge a 1-0 lead at halftime.

The Indians added to their lead just 24 seconds into the second half when Daniel Medina knocked in his first goal of the contest to make it a 2-0 lead for Cambridge.

A 2-0 lead was plenty enough for the Indians whose defense was in shutdown mode all night long, not allowing Greenwich to get a shot on goal for the first 70 minutes of the match in Cambridge's shutout win over Greenwich.

The Indians will next play host to play to Hoosic Valley on Thursday at 4:15 p.m.

SVC and MCLA play to draw

NORTH ADAMS, MASS. >> Down by one late in the second half, Danielle Biggers scored her second goal of the season off a nice pass from teammate Molly Madore that helped the Southern Vermont College women's soccer team tie the game and earn a 1-1 tie with MCLA on Tuesday night.

Melissa Mascari racked up a game-high 13 saves in net for the Mountaineers in the contest.

SVC is now 4-4-2 on the season.

The Mountaineers will host Newbury in their next contest on Saturday at 1 p.m.
