Parade to celebrate Mount Anthony champion wrestlers
BENNINGTON — The Mount Anthony Union wresting team, which recently won a record 30th consecutive state championship, will be saluted on Sunday with a celebratory parade through the downtown.
According to Select Board member Jim Carroll, the parade will step off at noon from the fire station on River Street. From there, it will proceed east on River Street, turn left on North Street, turn left onto Main Street at the Four Corners intersection, turn left onto Safford Street and left onto County Street, arriving at the high school on Park Street around 12:30.
There will be a presentation in the school parking lot, with Police Chief Paul Doucette serving as master of ceremonies, Carroll said.
During the ceremonies, there will be a special presentation made to the wrestlers, their coaches and the high school, Carroll said.
